GenieNote (“the App”) is developed and published by Leo Rivas-Micoud (“we”, “us”, “our”).
This policy explains what happens to information when you use the App. It applies to the GenieNote iOS and iPadOS app.

Everything you create in GenieNote is written to your device’s own storage and stays there. This includes:
We do not transmit this information anywhere. It is not sent to us, and we have no ability to access, read, or recover it. Because there is no cloud copy, please note that if you delete the App or lose your device without a backup, your notes cannot be restored by us.
If you have iCloud Backup or device backups enabled in iOS, your notes may be included in those backups. Those backups are managed by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy, not by us.
To be explicit, GenieNote does not:
When you add a photo from your library, the App uses Apple’s system photo picker. This means the App receives only the specific images you choose. It does not get access to the rest of your photo library, and it does not read your library in the background.
If you choose to take a photo, iOS will ask for your permission to use the camera. Photos you capture are added to your note and stored on your device. You can change or revoke camera access at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Camera, or in Settings › GenieNote.
The automatic background removal feature uses Apple’s on-device Vision framework. The image is analyzed locally on your iPhone or iPad. No photo is uploaded to us, to Google, or to any other service for processing.
The free version of GenieNote displays advertising supplied by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC), including banner ads, full-screen interstitial ads, and optional rewarded ads that you can choose to watch in exchange for a feature. Ads are not displayed to users who have purchased Premium.
To serve and measure ads, Google’s advertising software collects certain information from your device. This typically includes:

Google processes this information as described in the Google Privacy Policy and the How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services page. Google may act as an independent controller of this data. We never share the contents of your notes with Google or with any advertiser, because we never have them.
Before any personalized advertising is served, we ask for your consent through a consent form provided by Google’s User Messaging Platform. You may accept or refuse. If you refuse consent, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized, meaning they are based on general context rather than on your device’s advertising profile.
GenieNote offers a one-time in-app purchase, GenieNote Premium, which removes ads. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment card details, billing address, or Apple Account credentials.
To confirm that a purchase is genuine, the App sends your App Store purchase receipt to Apple’s verification service and stores the result (whether Premium is active) on your device. The receipt is issued by Apple and does not contain your payment details. Apple’s handling of purchase information is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
For refunds, purchase history, or billing questions, please contact Apple Support, as we cannot access or process transactions on your behalf.
GenieNote is not directed to children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the free version displays third-party advertising, we recommend that a parent or guardian decide whether the App is appropriate, or that Premium be used to remove ads. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at fusioncalc@gmail.com.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent.
Because your notes never leave your device, you already have direct and complete control over that information: you can view, edit, and permanently delete it inside the App at any time, without needing to ask us.
For advertising data, the most effective route is usually to use the device controls described in section 5, or to contact Google directly, since Google — not we — holds that information. You may also contact us at fusioncalc@gmail.com and we will help where we are able and respond within the time required by applicable law.
Legal bases (EEA/UK). Where the law requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on your consent for personalized advertising, and on our legitimate interests in operating and supporting a free, ad-funded app for non-personalized advertising and fraud prevention.
California. We do not sell personal information for money. Sharing information with an advertising partner for personalized advertising may be treated as a “sale” or “sharing” under California law; you can opt out using the device and consent controls in section 5. We do not knowingly collect the personal information of California residents under 16 without consent, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
If you are in the EEA or UK and believe we have not resolved your concern, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
We do not transfer your information internationally, because we do not collect it. Google and Apple operate globally and may process advertising and purchase information in countries other than your own, using transfer safeguards described in their respective privacy policies.
Your notes are stored within GenieNote’s private app storage area, which iOS isolates from other apps and protects with the device’s built-in security. We strongly recommend enabling a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID on your device, since anyone who can unlock it can open your notes.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Where information leaves your device — receipt verification with Apple, and ad requests to Google — it is sent over encrypted connections.
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the App or to legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how your information is handled, we will provide a more prominent notice, such as an in-app message. We encourage you to review this page from time to time.
